The Alphabet Illusion in Architecture
In 2007, Germany projected letters on to some of their buildings in an attempt to remind people of the symbolic locations of the country. For instance, in front of the Chancellery, a gigantic “D” stands for democracy. I don’t quite understand the purpose or the effectiveness of this strategy to bring awareness to the humanities at work in Germany, but it does create some beautiful illusions and architecture. What do you think of this exhibit? Very interesting, but is it effective and highlighting the certain symbolic buildings of Germany?
